I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.
But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.
II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.
III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!
IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.
Re: Look out
Date: 2019-06-17 06:42 am (UTC)"Oh don't worry, darling," he said. "Fighting monsters and defending the innocent is all in a day's work for the Great Sylvando. Though if you could help make sure the residents get to safety and maybe round up another apprentice or two, that would be a big help."
Rofl oops I have no idea where that assumption came from
Date: 2019-06-18 06:35 pm (UTC)"Right. Safety. Rounding up...." He's not very good at this sort of thing, even if he really should be. "Are you sure you'll be alright by yourself."
TBF it *is* a possible mistake to make with Sylvando if one is distracted. XD
Date: 2019-06-19 04:29 am (UTC)"I may be without my usual entourage, but it'll take more than this one hairy beastie to do me in," Sylvando said. Now if it called for help, then he might have a problem, since he didn't have a whip handy to let him hit multiple targets at once, but just the one? He could handle it. Probably.
The feline-looking beast, meanwhile, seemed to have noticed them and snarled, beginning to stalk in their direction. "Oh-oh, looks like someone's grumpy," he said. "Best get to it then, darling; I'll handle things here, hmm?"
rofl
Date: 2019-06-19 08:38 pm (UTC)Well hopefully he can find someone to assist. But so far everyone seems scattered and he isn't even sure where to look. This place so far has been an absolute disaster.

Date: 2019-06-23 02:40 am (UTC)And indeed, if Az looked back, he'd see that Sylvando didn't look to be in need of much sacrificing. He danced nimbly out of the way of the monster's claws before lunging in to strike himself, stabbing or slicing into the monster's body, and firing off the occasional taunt to keep its attention on him rather than turning it on any of the unarmed citizens. Before long, it looked as though he had the monster on the ropes, with one more good strike likely to finish it off.
Unfortunately, this was about when one of the other creatures decided to join the fray, a serpentine looking one slinking toward him from behind. And it seemed that SYlvando, occupied with the first monster, hadn't noticed it approaching...

Date: 2019-06-24 05:50 am (UTC)"I hate to be an imposition..." He gasps a little as he tries to keep the snake from biting him. "But could you possibly...?"

Date: 2019-06-30 07:26 am (UTC)Rather than call out and give up the advantage of surprise, Sylvando took advantage of the fact that the creature was entirely occupied with the angel to leap into the fray again immediately. And literally. He leaped into the air and used the force of his descent to help bring down his sword executioner style, slicing the snake almost into two halves a short distance beyond Aziraphale's feet, killing it in one blow. The angel might want to push the head portion away and move clear if he didn't want to get some rather goopy snake guts on his clothes from the mortally wounded creature's twitching.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how you do a critical hit with style.

Date: 2019-07-02 02:40 am (UTC)"Thank you." And then he looks at the snake, twitching on the ground in its death throes. And feels a wave of unangel like sympathy for it as well as some hidden fear growing like ice just under his rib cage.
"Oh...the poor thing. I hope it died quickly..." Why did it have to be a snake? "I've always thought snakes were the most fascinating creatures..."

Date: 2019-07-07 06:28 am (UTC)Fortunately the commotion seemed to have attracted some other apprentices, who were already driving off the last remaining creature, leaving him free to give his sword a quick cleaning by wiping it off in the grass- he'd give it a more thorough one later- and slip it back into its sheath before turning back to the angel. "And you're right; they can be quite lovely," he said. "Why there was a woman in the Gallopolitan circus side show who had a beautiful albino python, and it was just the sweetest thing; gentle enough that she could even let children pet it without any fear of it giving them a nip."
"Though I think we can agree that this corrupted one was very naughty, attacking and scaring people like it was," he said. "And just look what it's done to your lovely feathers!" Indeed the, formerly pristine white wings were now rather dusty from their tumble on the ground, with many a feather ruffled and askew.

Date: 2019-07-07 06:57 am (UTC)The attention to his wings distracts him considerably.
"Of course they would be!" He flaps then a bit to try to get the worst of the grime off and tries to straighten feathers with his fingers. "I ask you. It's bad enough that we can't put them away but to have to ...well...wrestle with them out too! I'm never going to get them clean at this rate."
