"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality."

I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.

But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.

II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.

III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!

IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

"Alright but just... watch out for its friends." Because there seem to be a few more lurking in the fringes. He hurries off, but not far, conflict warring in him about leaving a mortal behind to fend for themselves. Shouldn't be be the sacrifice so that they can live? Isn't that rather the point of being an Angel?

Well hopefully he can find someone to assist. But so far everyone seems scattered and he isn't even sure where to look. This place so far has been an absolute disaster.

Sylvando took note of the creatures lurking in wait, but thought that he could finish off the first one before they came into it too. "Thanks for the tip," he said. "I'll just have to take this one out in a hurry, then."

And indeed, if Az looked back, he'd see that Sylvando didn't look to be in need of much sacrificing. He danced nimbly out of the way of the monster's claws before lunging in to strike himself, stabbing or slicing into the monster's body, and firing off the occasional taunt to keep its attention on him rather than turning it on any of the unarmed citizens. Before long, it looked as though he had the monster on the ropes, with one more good strike likely to finish it off.

Unfortunately, this was about when one of the other creatures decided to join the fray, a serpentine looking one slinking toward him from behind. And it seemed that SYlvando, occupied with the first monster, hadn't noticed it approaching...

"Watch out!" But there's no time for the man to move so Aziraphale prays that he won't get too seriously damaged and insinuates himself in the way, getting knocked to the ground instead and rather painfully.

"I hate to be an imposition..." He gasps a little as he tries to keep the snake from biting him. "But could you possibly...?"

Sylvando heard the shout at the same time he struck the final blow to the feline monster, followed almost immediately by the sound of someone getting knocked to the ground. With the corrupted cat monster in a heap on the ground, he whirled around, taking in the scene before him at once.

Rather than call out and give up the advantage of surprise, Sylvando took advantage of the fact that the creature was entirely occupied with the angel to leap into the fray again immediately. And literally. He leaped into the air and used the force of his descent to help bring down his sword executioner style, slicing the snake almost into two halves a short distance beyond Aziraphale's feet, killing it in one blow. The angel might want to push the head portion away and move clear if he didn't want to get some rather goopy snake guts on his clothes from the mortally wounded creature's twitching.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how you do a critical hit with style.

Aziraphale does and manages to avoid the goop, thank heaven. Though his wings are probably in a state from having been knocked to the ground. He gets to his feet, brushing off his trousers and straightening his vest.

"Thank you." And then he looks at the snake, twitching on the ground in its death throes. And feels a wave of unangel like sympathy for it as well as some hidden fear growing like ice just under his rib cage.

"Oh...the poor thing. I hope it died quickly..." Why did it have to be a snake? "I've always thought snakes were the most fascinating creatures..."

"With how I hit it, it should have died almost instantly," Sylvando said, glancing around to make sure there were no other monsters on approach. His blow had severed the creature's spine, so it was unlikely it had really felt any pain, which was fine by him; monsters or no, he preferred dealing with them quickly when possible, rather than making them suffer. Though it seemed that the monsters here didn't have the courtesy of dissipating when defeated; if fighting them was going to be as regular a thing as it was back home, cleanup might soon become an issue.

Fortunately the commotion seemed to have attracted some other apprentices, who were already driving off the last remaining creature, leaving him free to give his sword a quick cleaning by wiping it off in the grass- he'd give it a more thorough one later- and slip it back into its sheath before turning back to the angel. "And you're right; they can be quite lovely," he said. "Why there was a woman in the Gallopolitan circus side show who had a beautiful albino python, and it was just the sweetest thing; gentle enough that she could even let children pet it without any fear of it giving them a nip."

"Though I think we can agree that this corrupted one was very naughty, attacking and scaring people like it was," he said. "And just look what it's done to your lovely feathers!" Indeed the, formerly pristine white wings were now rather dusty from their tumble on the ground, with many a feather ruffled and askew.

"Yes. Very naughty corrupted snake." Though that doesn't improve his mood much. Well at least it wasn't his very naughty corrupted snake, so he could breathe a bit easier for that.

The attention to his wings distracts him considerably.

"Of course they would be!" He flaps then a bit to try to get the worst of the grime off and tries to straighten feathers with his fingers. "I ask you. It's bad enough that we can't put them away but to have to ...well...wrestle with them out too! I'm never going to get them clean at this rate."

Sylvando opted not to ask how someone could 'put away' something that was obviously a rather large part of their body, and instead looked at the unusual being before him appraisingly. "I may be able to help you out with that a bit, if you don't mind, darling," he said. "With some of the costumes I wear back home, I do have some experience caring for feathers. And I imagine trying to straighten them out yourself might be a wee bit tricky, given the angle."
