i.Main Street
Main Street has settled in for January, but there are still Christmas Decorations here and there to liven things up a little bit. Feel free to shop, mingle with the locals or explore the castle grounds.
Though after hours there are still some shadows that venture into the streets. Not everything here is as peaceful as it seems, and it’s best to defeat the corroded trespassers before they cause trouble.
ii. Cookie Overload
Do you like free cookies? Of course! Everyone does. After the Christmas Rush, there are plenty to go around, available only after the sun goes down to any hungry passerby. There are cookies of all styles and flavors. But watch out for the dreader sriracha cookie. It will make you breathe fire in three flavors and gives a bit of heartburn after, but the aftertaste will leave you craving more.
iii. The Eighth Wonder of the World
Now that the jungle has been purified, Apprentices can wander through to explore all the things the jungle has to offer. Take a (still somewhat shambly) riverboat and explore the river, or come to chat and trade with the villagers. (Shrunken heads, two for one special!) But beware. Even though the jungle is purified, it’s not a safe place. In this kingdom of animals, someone is always hungry.
iv. Pin It On Them
Some smugglers are hanging around the outskirts of New Orleans, selling dubious looking items from even more dubious looking bags. Do you buy from them? Haggle? Steal? (not recommended) Or quietly try to alert any sort of authority (good luck) The choice is yours.
v. Battle Mesa Gate
While the jungle may be purified, many other Kingdoms are still seething with corrosion. Erstwhile Apprentices will find such corrosion on the banks of the Rivers of America, right where the jungle river joins in. Fight corroded creatures on the shore and in the water and be careful, they are stronger than they look and cleverer than they seem.
Obi-Wan Kenobi || The Wars & The Stars
Date: 2019-12-29 09:01 pm (UTC)He was still getting used to this thing that was the Force but ... wasn't. He could feel it, just the same, but he couldn't use it nearly as well. Which was why he'd gone out into the jungle to train, and come to find himself at the border where it abutted another piece of Corroded land ... and the dark magic still lingered. A few creeping vines had encroached on a tree from a nearby stone wall, and ... well ...
There may or may not be a Jedi hanging upside down by his ankles, a copious amount of vines around his legs, with his saber on the ground and out of reach. He's got one hand outstretched, his eyes closed, and is not really paying much attention to anyone or anything which might be approaching - or so it would seem.
IV. Pin It On Them
Obi's been conversing with the smugglers for a little while about some engine parts, hoping to help restore one of the jungle's steamships to something that will feel a bit less like it'll shake apart the moment he goes farther than the bazaar. He knows he's being swindled, but there's an easy enough fix for that.
"You know, I think I might take that converter after all," he says, as though he's convinced, and waves his hand a little, dismissively. "You shouldn't need to ask more than ten munny for it."
The smuggler glares. "I told you thirty. Clean the pond scum out yer ears."
Interesting. His brow creases ever so slightly and he strokes his moustache, then tries again. "Yes, but you shouldn't need more than ten."
"I don't care what you think I need, either pay the thirty, or scram."
He doesn't really want to betray the fact that he's only got twenty, but he's not sure his little boat will make it back without the part, and for the first time in years, the Force is not actually with him. At least, not in the way he was hoping it to be. So he tries a different tack, and taps you gently on the shoulder.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but may I borrow you for an outside opinion?"
V. Battle Mesa Gate
The Spark may not quite be the Force, but he's getting enough of a handle on it, and his lightsaber still works. Obi-Wan is working on pushing some troops back from the shoreline, swinging the weapon in wide, humming swaths, the heat of the blade making streaks of glass out of the sand where it touches the riverbank. Any enterprising Apprentices might be able to use them as impromptu weapons or obstacles if they need to. He's on the lookout for any royalty who might be able to purify the Corroded, since he really doesn't want to have to strike any down unless he has to.... but in looking for them, he leaves himself open, and a few other creatures close him in a circle.
He turns, noting the new arrivals to the battle, and gives them a grim smile. "Well, I've had worse odds..."

"Hellooooo..." said in a near whisper.

Date: 2019-12-30 02:54 am (UTC)If Obi-Wan opened his eyes, he'd see an anthropomorphic duck looking up at him with a partly-confused, partly-amused look, holding his lightsaber up to him. Fenton had no idea what the thing WAS, but it was obviously foreign to this land, and had probably fallen out of this guy's pocket.
/just realized he won't have it in-game but eh, you live, you TDM, you learn
Date: 2019-12-30 03:32 am (UTC)"Thank you very much." He put the saber back in its place at his hip and offered a grateful smile, completely undeterred by the fact that he was speaking to a duck in a suit jacket.
That's okay! You can always play a *little* fast + loose on TDMs. :3
Date: 2019-12-30 03:39 am (UTC)Blinking at the sudden blade of light, he stepped back as the man neatly cut the vine and dropped back down to his feet. Wow. He made that look so effortless! Smiling back, Fenton offered his hand towards the man. "Fenton Crackshell's the name, and that was really cool! What is that ... light sword thing?" It was high-tech, whatever it was... That much was immediately obvious to him.

He flashes her a rueful, slightly embarrassed smile, not bothered in the least by her imposing appearance.

Date: 2020-01-02 08:52 pm (UTC)Crowley suggested as he paced around the base of the tree trying to work out the situation. It seemed a simple vine wrapped around the legs deal to him much like the man had stepped into a hunting snare.
He leaned back against the tree trunk and gave those vines a good warning glare.
"Can you reach the branch over your head?"

Date: 2020-01-02 04:12 am (UTC)Amren was walking by when a human male tapped her on the shoulder. It was weird having some many people approach her so casually without fear. Not necessarily a bad thing. It could be nice every now and then.
She arches a brow at him. "What is it that you want my opinion on?"

She turned back to the Obi-Wan and pointed back over her shoulder. "I saw a vendor about twenty stalls down selling actual brand new ones for less then ten munny." That was a lie, but the smuggler didn't know that. Hopefully the Human male will realize though.
