i.Main Street
Main Street has settled in for January, but there are still Christmas Decorations here and there to liven things up a little bit. Feel free to shop, mingle with the locals or explore the castle grounds.
Though after hours there are still some shadows that venture into the streets. Not everything here is as peaceful as it seems, and it’s best to defeat the corroded trespassers before they cause trouble.
ii. Cookie Overload
Do you like free cookies? Of course! Everyone does. After the Christmas Rush, there are plenty to go around, available only after the sun goes down to any hungry passerby. There are cookies of all styles and flavors. But watch out for the dreader sriracha cookie. It will make you breathe fire in three flavors and gives a bit of heartburn after, but the aftertaste will leave you craving more.
iii. The Eighth Wonder of the World
Now that the jungle has been purified, Apprentices can wander through to explore all the things the jungle has to offer. Take a (still somewhat shambly) riverboat and explore the river, or come to chat and trade with the villagers. (Shrunken heads, two for one special!) But beware. Even though the jungle is purified, it’s not a safe place. In this kingdom of animals, someone is always hungry.
iv. Pin It On Them
Some smugglers are hanging around the outskirts of New Orleans, selling dubious looking items from even more dubious looking bags. Do you buy from them? Haggle? Steal? (not recommended) Or quietly try to alert any sort of authority (good luck) The choice is yours.
v. Battle Mesa Gate
While the jungle may be purified, many other Kingdoms are still seething with corrosion. Erstwhile Apprentices will find such corrosion on the banks of the Rivers of America, right where the jungle river joins in. Fight corroded creatures on the shore and in the water and be careful, they are stronger than they look and cleverer than they seem.
Scorpia | She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
Date: 2019-12-29 09:36 am (UTC)Scorpia searched through the various clothing items at the Emporium, keeping her tail cured close to her back to try and avoid hitting any of the other displays. Strictly speaking, she'd never gone shopping before, but she hadn't thought it would be that difficult to find something she could actually wear. Sizing was an issue, but more of one was the fact that she was rather... spiky. And had a tail. So finding something that she wouldn't destroy the moment she put it on was rather complicated, to say the least.
Still, she was determined! She'd get this 'being a normal person' thing down no matter what it took! But normal or not, she was still a large person with a hard exoskeleton, so when she turned partway around and bumped into the person near the next display over, it likely wouldn't be too comfortable for them. "Sorry, sorry!", she said, instantly apologetic as she moved to check on the person she'd bumped into. "Are you OK there? These displays are just really close together."
II. Cookie Overload
Ever seen a huge, buff scorpion woman looking like a kid in a candy store? Probably not. But after tonight, you won't be able to say that any more, when Scorpia hurried up, a cookie in each pincer and a huge grin on her face. "Hey, have you tried these?", she asked excitedly. "These are the best ration bars ever! I mean they're not exactly bar-shaped so that's a little weird, but they're amazing! And they're just giving them away! Can you believe it?"
ii
Date: 2019-12-29 01:37 pm (UTC)Mostly, because she was speaking directly to him, and not in the usual go away way.
"It's a pretty great deal," he agreed, with his trademark gargled-with-razor-blades tones. "They're called cookies, and apparently, they made too many for the holidays. So, hey! Free food!"
Re: ii
Date: 2019-12-30 01:59 am (UTC)"'Cookies', huh?", Scorpia said, glancing at one of them for a moment. "I'll have to remember that. Thanks! Oh, and did you want one?" She offered him the cookie in her left pincer. "I mean, I know there's more, but since I have two of them, and there's two of us, you know..." She shrugs, giving a bit of a sheepish smile.
Re: ii
Date: 2019-12-30 02:09 am (UTC)He quite happily took a cookie. Being visible was pretty great.

From:Omg Scorpia!! <3 (also Main Street)
Date: 2019-12-29 04:42 pm (UTC)That wasn't what was happening there and then, though. She felt like something hard just collided with her and she barely had enough time to catch her balance before crashing into something else. Nehra that hurt... But whoever it was began apologizing immediately, helping to quell any immediate anger she might have felt with it. She just sighed, trying to shake it off.
"It is all right, I am just f-fine?" At first her response was normal, but when she actually got a look at the woman--
Oh Nehra she was tall. And kinda huge. And all of those red spikes. Were those claws? And a pointy tail?? Wait would the woman notice she was staring she needed to stop staring!!
"Fine. I... Am fine," Adela coughed then, trying to shake off her shock as well as just how tiny she felt next to this woman, "A-And you? Are you all right as well?"
She'd just... Pretend this was normal. Right. That would hopefully work. Even if she had literally never run into another person quite like this before and was having a lot of trouble processing it, this was definitely just fine wasn't it??
Re: Omg Scorpia!! <3 (also Main Street)
Date: 2019-12-30 02:13 am (UTC)As Adela stared in disbelief though, Scorpia's expression grew concerned again. "Are you sure you're alright though? Because you're looking kind of dazed there. Did I hit you on the head? " Her tone grew a bit more alarmed as she continued. "I didn't accidentally sting you, did I? I'm sorry! It's just a reflex sometimes you know? I mean you're not knocked out, which I guess is good, but then I don't know if my venom works the same way here so I still might have, and I-"
You might want you interrupt there at some point, Adela. Once Scorpia gets on a roll of awkward fretting, it could go on for awhile if someone doesn't stop her.

Date: 2019-12-30 03:29 am (UTC)"Sorry," Scorpia said one last time. "I'm just still getting used to... well, pretty much everything around here, so I don't..." She trailed off with a sigh, face-clawing. "Yeah, I'm just... gonna shut up now." Now that she'd effectively ruined any chance of making a good first impression with this person. Good job, Scorpia...
When the young woman asked about her stinging, she looked back at her mildly confused. "Well, yeah," she said. After a quick glance over her shoulder to make certain there was nothing and no one behind her, she briefly flexed her tail by way of demonstration. "Kind of goes with the whole 'scorpion' thing. Normally my venom can temporarily paralyze people and knock them out for a little while, but I don't know if it works the same way here."
no subject
Date: 2019-12-30 04:04 am (UTC)She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck as she looked away from Scorpia. She felt kind-of bad now, if only because this woman was apparently distressed where she didn't need to be. Adela knew she wasn't worth the fuss...
"I... I am more worried that I may have offended by staring. I have never seen a lot of the types of people here before, you being no exception to that. But I promise you that you have not wronged me in any way, all right?"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-30 04:43 am (UTC)"I'm just glad I didn't hurt you; I've been really trying to make a good impression here, but it's.... not going so well." Main Street just wasn't built for people her size, especially ones with tails.
"Anyway... maybe we should just start over?", she asked. "So... hi; I'm Scorpia, and I'm from Etheria."
asdfjkl; the notif for this one disappeared on me x.x
Date: 2020-01-05 03:05 am (UTC)She tried to smile, though her expression was shy and uncertain. Even if Ildis had told her she was just fine over and over, she still felt awkward when it came to new social interactions. Oddly enough though, it helped that Scorpia seemed almost as unfamiliar.
"I suppose this place is strange and new for both of us. I am still trying to see where everything is, here."
Sokay, it happens. <3

Date: 2019-12-31 01:09 am (UTC)Crowley glanced up at the strange woman, did a double take, and then actually stared. Must have been the strange ration bars and not the huge pincers.
"You have to be a solder of... Some kind... Anyone else would call them biscuits."
Re: Scorpia | She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
Date: 2019-12-31 05:48 am (UTC)"Anyway, 'biscuits', good to know!", she said. "And I know they have lots of them, but you should really get a few for yourself. Trust me you don't want to miss out on these!"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 06:30 am (UTC)As a soldier he knew that was probably the best way to explain the entire situation. She would understand conscription.
As for the biscuits... Crowley looked to the ones clutched between her claws and then back up at that joyously happy face which didn't seem to match up with the rest of the 'soldier' part of her.
"I'm watching my girlish figure."
He deadpanned, even though that wasn't a thought in his mind at all.
"Is everyone from your world a scorpion?"
He had to ask! It was the elephant in the room!
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 07:13 am (UTC)And yep, Crowley, that's a seeming contradiction you'll have to get used to with her. Yes, she's basically a walking tank who could probably snap most people she meets in half without much trouble. But she's also a big, buff cream puff most of the time.
"Well, your loss then," she said, taking a big bite out of one of her cookies before she realized he'd asked her another question.
She attempted to reply, but quickly realized that the mouthful of cookie was making her words unintelligible. After quickly swallowing she tried again. "Nope, I'm the only one like me," she said. "Well, the only one like me now. Or at least I think I am; everyone in my family was a scorpion; maybe everyone in my whole kingdom! But... I haven't seen anyone else like me since I was really young. Not in person, anyway." There was the photo she had of her mothers, and the now nameless members of the royal Scorpion family adorning the walls of Horror Hall... but that was as close as she'd come to another of her people for as long as she could remember. Something else she tried not to think too hard about.
"How about you?", she asked, latching onto the natural change of subject. "Does everyone from your world have wings?"
no subject
Date: 2019-12-31 09:41 am (UTC)"No. Most of the people on my world are like them."
He bobbed his head to the crowd.
"Normal, everyday humans."
Lovable idiots most of them on the cusp of falling themselves but they did all have their little moments of brilliance.
"Do you have magic?"
no subject
Date: 2020-01-01 02:58 am (UTC)At the question about magic, she considered a moment. "Well they said that I have magic here, but back home? Nah," she said. "The Black Garnet never worked for me, so I don't have powers like the other Princesses do."

"They're called cookies. A type of sweet pastry and are anything but a ration. I think their only purpose is to give children a sugar high."
