I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.
But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.
II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.
III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!
IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

They seemed to enjoy attacking when people are around and our first priority should always be the guests." Oliver would be amused that Malcolm was considering innocent lives first but he was here to help not harm. "So we need spells in our arsenal that slow the creatures down until we clear the area then we can attack."

Date: 2019-06-19 04:47 pm (UTC)Malcolm nods liking this idea. "That sounds like a good idea. We can add an element to the spell that allows the quicksand to grow or expand depending on how many guests are around at the time. That way they don't get hurt."

Date: 2019-06-19 07:01 pm (UTC)She points her wand at her temple and flicks a line from it to his sword hand. "Link, link, link!"
Immediately, he'll be able to see what she imagines, like a mirage or a ghost image over reality: a red thread connecting them, an illusory monster at the end of the alley for practice. It's a giant hulking rattlesnake with bug eyes and dripping fangs, and oddly enough, a mop of matted blond hair.

Date: 2019-06-19 08:21 pm (UTC)Malcolm takes a deep breath and takes her image feeding it with his power directing the image to where he can see the monster . He lets his power expand the image and turn it into a solid object in right under the monsters feet. He then grins and calls out to the creature. "Hey ugly come and get me why don't you?"

Date: 2019-06-19 10:52 pm (UTC)"Do you think it's working?"
She hadn't really thought about the implications of imagining a snake based on someone clever and conniving. Malcolm may have a decent fight on his hands, if he can't talk her into reining in her illusion.

Date: 2019-06-19 10:57 pm (UTC)Malcolm is used to being able to think and control at the same time and he focuses on the monster which hisses at him and starts to try and go around the quicksand. "It's going around imagine it bigger or I might have to break the link to deal with it myself."

Date: 2019-06-20 05:11 pm (UTC)"The quicksand," he calls out, "make it bigger and deeper." His hand tightens on his sword hilt and his body leans forward as he pours more of his control and power into his mind trying to keep things under control.

Date: 2019-06-27 12:49 am (UTC)She closes her eyes, pulling together all of her focus, and a boardwalk of planks springs up underfoot - enough to allow them safe passage over the quicksand while still giving him striking access to the snake. This way, she can make it as big as it needs to be. Secure in her footing, and in knowing they're safe, she starts working on imagining deeper sand.
