I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.

But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.

II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.

III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!

IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

"Apparently not." Unless they showed up, perhaps. But there was no need to get the other Angel's hopes up. And it wasn't as if he didn't have sympathy for their situation, but was at loose ends how to address it.

"it will turn out alright I'm sure. Think of it as a chance to build your spiritual fortitude." He hated that line, but it also worked in a way.

"I... am not sure I could even define that, let alone build it up," the other Angel said with a small watery giggle.

"No, me either." It's always difficult to pin down. It was a mix of faith and resolution, determination and absolute will power to do Good regardless of the outcome. "But it's worth giving a try."

"But... what exactly would I be trying?"

This was why he preferred the company of humans, honestly. Much easier to talk to, or avoid.

"Just try to do Good as you were commanded to do."

"Well yes, I always try to do that...."

"Then just keep at it." In the meantime he supposed he ought to be practicing something but he was really rather opposed to this whole thing. "I am going to get some lunch." And then out of deference to a colleague... of sorts: "You're welcome to join me. If you eat, that is."

"As in food?" Kohaku aske, eyes going HUGE.

"Yes. As in food." He's not entirely sure he wants to know what caused that reaction.

"I'm sorry... I thought... I mean... are you an Angel?"

"Yes." He flexes his wings in agitation. "I know we don't need to but I -- it helps me fit in with the locals. by which I mean humans."

"But... the taking of life is forbidden by God!" Kohaku protested, alarmed.

"Funny that..." He winced and apologized for the slip. In his experience God takes plenty of life herself. Or at least had in the past. "I was never told not to." No one seemed to care what he did honestly.

[amber_angel]

"No one ever told you...." Kohaku is amazed and confused and horrified.

Sorry, Aziraphale, you're talking to someone who doesn't even like to walk because that might hurt the grass and bugs...

"I think it's because we're from entirely different places." Where God is more strict in that one. But if it pleases her to be so than who is he to argue? But he knew it wasn't a problem because if it was, Gabriel would have never permitted it.

"But God is God and Angels are Angels.... right?"

"God is God but we are certainly not from the same place as I have no idea who you're talking about." And while he's not in the know as it were, he reads the Celestial Times.
