I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.
But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.
II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.
III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!
IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

Date: 2019-06-27 12:53 am (UTC)She was feeling quite pleased with herself, to be pulling this off. The concept that the two of them might have had similar experiences was always a great conversational tool. It was a mutual beneficial situation so she saw 0 harm in it.
"That must be it!" Said with a snap of her fingers. "Gotta say I like the change. The old name was way too long." Pausing a moment as if to let the memories flood to the surface of her mind. "That would be a sight to see. Some people just can't handle their spirits."
Apparently so! Or.... so Marisol would have had him believe.
When he gave her his name, she wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. Was she meant to call him Anthony J Crowley every time she addressed him- or was he Anthony from Crowley..... or....seriously. What are surnames!? Well, for the time being she could just omit it, as she had been doing beforehand. "That's a nice name."
"Believe me it's not easy," Marisol replied quickly not missing a beat. "Someone or something has gone to an awful lot of trouble to try and contain us here."

At the blank stare that was bound to provoke he clarified.
"This world's magic. Have you figured out how to harness it yet?"

Date: 2019-06-27 06:36 am (UTC)"It's no-" She started to answer before her eyes trailed to the basket of baked goods. "-Oh look! This one has some kind of filling in it!"
It was another attempt to direct attention elsewhere. Things were going so well, she didn't want to have to admit that she was equally clueless about this as he was- nor did she want to make up a story on how she bent this world's magic to her whims because then Crowley would want her to help get him home.

"Or raspberry... does it matter? We're meant to save the Kingdom here and some of us have problems or our own."
The Earth to save for one, or to abandon it as a lost cause, the details were still fuzzy in his mind really.

Date: 2019-06-27 07:32 am (UTC)Then for the first time of the day, Marisol surprised even herself. Bowing her head she fessed up to it. "No." No what?
"No- I haven't figured out how to consistently harness the energy of this world." Okay, so she couldn't fully admit that she was as powerless as he was. Shouldn't the idea that inter-dimensional travel was possible to some degree give him some hope?

Number 44 8/
Date: 2019-07-11 09:59 am (UTC)"Are things that dire back at home...?" Yes this meant maintaining the serious tone she was growing weary of but it seemed important.
Re: Number 44 8/
Date: 2019-07-12 04:47 am (UTC)"End of the World style dire."
Re: Number 44 8/
Date: 2019-07-30 06:58 pm (UTC)One thing was certain, he definitely believed his world was in the end times.
Oddly defensively Marisol started babbling, "Don't you think you're underestimating your world? I mean.. sure... it's possible that.... it could be.... destroyed... but there's a balance to everything... the planet might just be letting off steam..."
:It's not like people never act irrationally either..." As if she wasn't one.

"It's not like you're a world hell bent on destroying yourself..."
That would be silly.
