Mary took two more steps back at Jack's suggestion. She wasn't one to simply turn away from things. However, she took a moment to adjust her hat and make sure her hair was still still set just so. If those movements made her head turn so she was no longer looking towards Jack it was completely coincidence.
Although the sound of the wave washing over Jack drew her attention again. She looked aghast. Setting her own jaw, she brushed off her skirt and huffed. "Really. Jack, are you quite sure you don't require assistance?"
