As a child she had been surrounded by people who loved her — or so she thought. At times she missed her father and knew that he longed for her, too. Returning would mean a few things at this point such as painting a target on her home for the Wild Hunt to find her as they did at Kaer Morhen. It was better that she be secluded now. Better but lonely. Even Geralt and Yennefer were in danger when with her now so, perhaps, being in this place would at least grant them reprieve and if lucky, they could forget about her.
Dimensional travel appeared to be something plenty of people here were accustomed to. Perhaps that was among the traits regarded upon when choosing a new person to pull in through the mirror. Or maybe not. Who knew?
Convincing someone that magic was real sounded like it could be quite the chore. For her part, Ciri grew up among witchers and sorceresses, it wasn't that difficult to see the magic all around the world. Especially given that several of the beings witchers were hired to take care of tended to be magical themselves ( vampires, succubi... ) — it would be foolish not to believe completely. Foolish and quite deadly.
"They're a sort of mercenary from where I hail," it wasn't all that difficult to picture someone not knowing what a witcher might be given that she had met so many in other dimensions whom hadn't heard of the term. "They work with the supernatural." While it had been something of a shot in the dark to hope that someone might have seen Geralt — and she had assumed the answer would be a no, Ciri was still disappointed to get the negative response. It showed in her pale features as she dropped her vibrant green gaze to the ground. "I see, thank you for the honesty."
