Maybe it doesn't matter, because he's not apologizing or seeking her forgiveness for it. Funny thing is, with Bad Wolf, maybe she won't ever die, but he'd hate that too! And anyway, she can't accept it if he can't love her in spite of that fear. Well, he does love her, but he won't act on it.
She stops crying finally, dusts herself off, and gets to her feet.
He got married. His wife died. He could watch someone else die, but not Rose. That's pretty messed up, isn't it? Maybe he loves Rose more. Or his wife more? Or maybe it's just some stupid Timelord pride about having to protect the fragile human -- and her fists ball up all over again. Deep breath.
"Maybe you should go marry Missy. You like torturing yourself so much, I'm sure she'll be glad to help."
Rose stalked off, fuming, and punched a brick wall, purposely scraping her hand. She didn't care that it took off a few layers of skin around the knuckles, at least it felt good.
