smk_oocMerlin’s and Hades’ continued magic to keep the portal open works perfectly fine most of the time. But dreams and nightmares don’t always play well together-- and on occasion, a small bubble of strange intent forms and releases a curse on the unsuspecting inhabitants.
In the wee morning hours of the 15th, Apprentices will feel a prickle along the back of their neck that might make their hair stand on end. The curse has begun.
When You Call My Name
How it Works
Whenever one Apprentice (the caller) says another’s name (the callee) , that apprentice will end up attached to their side with an unshakable bond only a prince/ss can separate.
On Stickiness
How long will they be stuck together?
Until a Prince/ss can unstick them and/or the midnight of the 22nd. Whichever comes first.
However, they can be unstuck temporarily if someone is called by someone else.
For ex. If Michael calls Ace who is stuck to Ze, then Ace will go flying off to visit his demon cohort, leaving Ze a free bird. For now.
Can a Prince/ss unstick themselves?
No, only a third party prince/ss may unstick a prince/ss from their unfortunate.
Can we make a c-c-combo?
Sure! Stick as many people to you as you like. Mind you though it’s going to get awkward to tag.
What if two people call the same person at once?
Then both callers will be pulled to the callee like anidiot sandwich.
On Distance
How far apart can they be for this to work?
Any distance.
Is the callee pulled through the air or do they teleport?
That depends on the distance.
If they are within ten feet of each other, it will pull the named person to the caller.
Eleven to twenty feet, the two people will each be pulled.
Any further and it will be a quick teleport of named to caller.
So I can call someone if I’m on a mission
Yep! But you probably better be ready to do a lot of apologizing to someone.
On Calling
What if I use a nickname?
Calling only works if you use the character’s real name.
Can I call Hades/Merlin/Dreamfinder?
Hades and Merlin no, as it is their magic powering this.
However, Dreamfinder being a kingdom spirit is fair game. As well as Figment, Pain and Panic and Archimede. But please let us know in advance if you want any of these.
What about townspeople/animals
They might look at you funny but they remain unaffected by the curse. Why? It’s a mystery.
