Mal had been walking by on her way to patrol when she heard someone telling a story and stopped to listen, then found herself shaking her head. "Just what life always needs," she muttered under her breath as she headed off, unaware the story had been ending and he wasn't talking anymore. "More pirates."
Truth to be told Ace wasn't that bad, most of the time. When he wasn't picking her up and hauling her around. But that didn't really balance against Shrimpy and her pathetic little crew.
