Character Meet and Greet: Winter Wonderful!

Rules | FAQ | Premise | Applications

i.Main Street

Main Street has settled in for January, but there are still Christmas Decorations here and there to liven things up a little bit. Feel free to shop, mingle with the locals or explore the castle grounds.

Though after hours there are still some shadows that venture into the streets. Not everything here is as peaceful as it seems, and it’s best to defeat the corroded trespassers before they cause trouble.

ii. Cookie Overload

Do you like free cookies? Of course! Everyone does. After the Christmas Rush, there are plenty to go around, available only after the sun goes down to any hungry passerby. There are cookies of all styles and flavors. But watch out for the dreader sriracha cookie. It will make you breathe fire in three flavors and gives a bit of heartburn after, but the aftertaste will leave you craving more.

iii. The Eighth Wonder of the World
Now that the jungle has been purified, Apprentices can wander through to explore all the things the jungle has to offer. Take a (still somewhat shambly) riverboat and explore the river, or come to chat and trade with the villagers. (Shrunken heads, two for one special!) But beware. Even though the jungle is purified, it’s not a safe place. In this kingdom of animals, someone is always hungry.

iv. Pin It On Them
Some smugglers are hanging around the outskirts of New Orleans, selling dubious looking items from even more dubious looking bags. Do you buy from them? Haggle? Steal? (not recommended) Or quietly try to alert any sort of authority (good luck) The choice is yours.

v. Battle Mesa Gate
While the jungle may be purified, many other Kingdoms are still seething with corrosion. Erstwhile Apprentices will find such corrosion on the banks of the Rivers of America, right where the jungle river joins in. Fight corroded creatures on the shore and in the water and be careful, they are stronger than they look and cleverer than they seem.

He already was someone's special rehabilitation project. Different affliction of course, Aziraphale liked to play at being good angel, bad demon.

"And he didn't have it?"

Crowley stabbed a thumb back at the peddler who spit disgustingly in their direction. Apparently he didn't care for the implication that there was anything he couldn't get.

"What were you looking for?"

"Honestly- it is difficult to tell. His manner in labeling his wares is atrocious." As it would be when one was dealing in potentially illicit substances.

"As atrocious as his manners in general...." She uttered a bit more softly as the man expectorated. The careening saliva managed to miss the both of them, thank heaven.

There seemed to be little point in mentioning it, since Amelia still wasn't quite sure that this merchant could be trusted with something so important but sure. Why not? She would say it by name. "...Let me just start by prefixing this- what I'm about to say might seem ridiculous to you but I assure you that I am well aware that it has recently fallen into disuse. So please spare me your incredulous looks, your hearty guffaws and your reproachful remonstrations."

"Laudanum."

"It's still used sometimes."

Crowley replied but only after a raised eyebrow at the impressive alliteration and a sending swift glare at the jerk that had spat at them. If that had landed on his shoes... there would have been hell to pay.

"Rarely. You have to have a prescription for it or have a contact with transformative magic."

Was that a thing? Whatever, he carried on like it was because his magical abilities allowed him to do such feats. He just needed something to alter...

Crowley stepped past her, retrieving an old glass bottle from the ground and a few clumps of dried leaves. Some of them he recognized as being poisonous but it really wouldn't matter once he was done with them. He set these items down on an overturned barrel, snapped his fingers, and voila! The form of the objects altered and changed right before her eyes. The bottle grew new and more stout, even taking on a label that clearly marked what it contained and the leaves melted into a fine syrup that by design hovered up and poured itself into the bottle. At the end the rusty stopped became shiny new silver and plopped itself down on the concoction.

"Can't say I ever really thought of making money this way but... it would be difficult to find anywhere else."

He held the medicine out for her inspection confident that if she didn't pay he could just make that junk and old leaves again.

"How much is it worth to you?"
