He snarled but some of that was just bravado meant to make the creature think twice before trying his luck with him. Much like a rattlesnake will give it's tail a good warning shake before actually striking as it would rather not fight.
"Haven't seen an ocean since I've been here... And we don't go in for that eating things while they are still alive thing especially people like that old lady you scared off earlier."
