I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.

But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.

II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.

III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!

IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

All right, now she was looking at him, if only to glare.

"What will it take for you to go away?"

"Oh! Is this that thing where the villain of the week bribes the hero to leave them alone for a while before we get a montage of what each has been doing in the time between, ending with them facing off against each other again, one with an eye patch or a scar, the other with different hair so we know time has passed?"

Elan did love a good training montage!

"No, this is the thing where if you don't go away, I stab you in the eye with my fingers."

And even if they were just tiny black spots, that would still hurt, she imagined.

"Then I'd get to wear an eye patch! then we just have to get you a cool scar! Or a Peg leg!"

That's it, he was becoming her new priority. She dropped the person she was currently harassing to fully turn to the annoyance.

"Quick question. What's two plus two?"

He stopped and actually thought about that. Like it was a hard question, then he tilted his head. "Okay, I don't get the joke... what's the answer?"

"Four!" As in, four fingers - two and two - to jab him in the eyesockets.

Not enough to do permanent damage - could you, to round black dots? - but hopefully enough to make him get an idea of where he can go. As in away.

Did she actually jab at him?

He jumped back. "Was that a surprise round? Do we do initiative now? Are we in combat?"


If not:

"Four? That's not funny, that's just math..." he said, confused.

"You better hope so, otherwise you'd be running a very expensive bill..." She then glanced out of the corner of her eye - the man she'd been assaulting earlier had run away!

"Ack! He got away! This is your fault, you blithering idiot!"
