I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.

But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.

II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.

III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!

IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

It's too late, really. He's standing there baffled by his own pile of laundry and the sympathetic glance, well! It really gets him going! His large white wings flex in irritation.

"Isn't this completely appalling? Here we are, dragged out of our own times and places, forced to clean up their mess and do our own laundry! I can't even... Well suffice to say, back at home I never had to do this sort of thing. That's what the dry cleaners were for. Honestly. I can't even begin to know how to work this fiendish device. Can you believe it requires money?" He clicks his tongue. "The longer I'm here the more I'm sure it's meant to be some sort of punishment."

Not sure what to make non-verbal exchange at first, he breaths a sigh of relief when the silence is broken. There is something comforting about not being the only one who is completely clueless. He looked back to the man, with a hint of a smile on his features.

"Yes, when you put it all together it does seem like a lot to take on at once," He almost threw in something to soften his words but thought better of it. There was no harm in some venting, even if he didn't think the people who summoned there had much choice either. They needed help and hadn't known where to turn.

"Dry Cleaners? That does bring up an interesting potential solution... but it is likely out of our price range for the time being." If there were restaurants, and item shops in main street there might also be a dry cleaners somewhere. He had spent some time in Modern Japan as a spirit so the idea wasn't entirely foreign to him though the Muto family had washed their own laundry, someone like Seto Kaiba probably paid someone to do his. "I honestly don't have the slightest idea how to work them either," sounding all too cheerful about it. "The last place I resided doesn't even have electricity yet."

Also, the stranger had slipped something else into the conversation Atem hadn't predicted. "These require money too?" Welp, guess he better hope for a rainstorm or some sort of an occupation to pop up. He looked to the machines feeling more perplexed by them than before. "That must be what those slots are for..... I had no idea." Unable to help himself he chuckled lightly at the last line. "I hope it isn't, but I can see where you would get that hypothesis from."

"Everything requires money. Isn't it awful? Honestly they should be serving us if we're the one putting our necks on the line." But other than sending strongly worded letters, there's little he can do about it. There's honestly no use complaining either, so he sighs and tries a smile.

"Do you need a little money to get your laundry sorted? I have some loose change I can spare. And I do hope you've brought your own washing powder or whatever it's called these days because the machines do not provide them."

"It is... inconvenient, but I suppose I should have questioned it beforehand." Atem's current companion did have a point, but structurally speaking it wouldn't be sustainable over time. The kingdom had already offered them free lodgings with the trappings for the first month, they definitely couldn't afford to keep it up for the entire duration. Resources for this land were likely strained as it was with all the corruption blocking off different areas. Given his prior occupation in his dimension, Atem could sympathize. Also, he could understand this man's frustration, he had not asked to be brought here.

"Oh, uh.. I couldn't possibly ask you to do something like that," Smiling at the other. "It's very kind of you to offer but you'll be needing that spare change yourself, won't you?". As for the powder, at least Atem thought to bring that.
