The protest had been offered quickly before it had really dawned on him that the lady's little Tale of Two Cities play had ended and she had said the word TARDIS, something he was fairly certain she should not have known about.
"Oh, I see," He said much more sedately when the key was offered up, "That means one of my other selves must be around here some where. It wouldn't be the first time I had been pulled to some pocket dimension to save one of them. They do seem to need my help a great deal!"
He reached out to recollect his things, shove them back into his pockets in no particular order, and shake the Rose's hand.
"It is very nice to meet you, Rose! Now, which version of me have you met before... not the dandy I hope?"
The rest of what she said was a bit of a blur to him really. A confused mess of things that hadn't happened yet combined with this world's own unique brand of whatever was going on. The real bottom line for him was it was a mystery! And he was pretty eager to dig into it.
"My universe isn't sealed. Not at all! The Time Lords have the power to seal and unseal it of course, you might have heard of them? But... it's entirely possible they sent me here. As I said, they have in the past. I think before we decide anything we really must find out more about this corruption I keep hearing so much about. What is it exactly? Have you been able to see any sign of it?"
