"Oi you! Get back here!!!" She tries to grab his coat, but blimey he's fast!!!
So she takes a shortcut.
Shortcut.
As in, using the rope she'd gotten, to abseil down the side of the building wall outside. And she thought she was useless.
And then she waits right outside the door for him to run out. So she can trip him!
