"Not everyone gets to pick out their own name," she offered, but let him rant. He seemed a bit like Delia ... she figured all she had to do was let him go on until he ran out of steam. As he talked, she found the ladder and began to pick her way up, careful not to get any wet, white paint on her clothes. When Crowley called her a witch, she grinned at the thought.
"Maybe I am a witch now. I mean ... they gave me a wand and told me to use magic. It'd make sense. Before that I was just a student. With a camera."
She climbed up onto the apex of the roof, utterly fearless in that regard, and moved over to sit next to him. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out two bottles of soda she'd bought and offered him one.
"You're probably here for the same reason I am. Those two guys, Merlin and Hades. Talk about mixing your mythologies, right?"
