I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.

But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.

II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.

III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!

IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

"Architect division of... what...?" He asked, frowning. Something was going on here, and one of the two of them was missing something. It wasn't usually him, but then he did find himself sounding a bit like the kid, which boded ill.

"Something you're a little young for." And too young to even be here, honestly. Though there was something about them. "Are you here all by yourself?"

"Yeah, you angels are all about good works. Talking about them anyway, not actually doing them so much."

Hypocrites most of you, was what he was basically saying.

"You can't exactly miracle your way around here without any powers."

"What? No, of course it matters, it's ... it's the world. It's just kind of a lot to take i--"

She stops short as the bottle shatters, and whips her head over to stare at him. "Hey! I know you're a demon, but really, someone could get seriously hurt from that!"

Young? Really? Well, maybe being stuck in this form made Kohaku seem weaker and younger than usual. But Kohaku nodded to the question. "God sent me here," Kohaku said softly. "As my punishment for going to Earth without permission."

"Oh. I'm not an Angel Master. I've only started going to Earth recently. And if we're not Masters we're limited on what we are supposed to do while on Earth. I was just trying to grant a wish... and Shuichiro had just figured out a wish too...." Kohaku sniffled.

"God did?" That was curious. "Well I'm not sure that God is-- quite as direct as-- people might otherwise assume she is being. It can be difficult to tell sometimes so we must have faith that everything is working according to the Great Plan and that what she decides is for the best."

"Are you sure it was God? Who told you?"

Kohaku nodded. "The three remaining Angel Masters came to give Madam Hisui and me our punishments for leaving Heaven without permission. Madam Hisui was stripped of rank as the Angel Master of Wind and banished from Heaven... And then they turned to tell me my punishment, and next thing I know... I'm here."

"Why not?" she held a finger up, "No, sorry, wrong question. What were you doing there then?"

Kohaku looked down, hands wringing a bit. "I... my heart hurt so much being away from him..." Kohaku whispered. "I knew it was wrong, but I had to see Shuichiro at least once more."

Well. That was the quickest way to pull on Rose's heartstrings. Given she was pretty much borderline sobbing uncontrollably herself about missing the Doctor.

She protectively cuddled Kohaku, even while throwing a tantrum herself. "And heaven said you couldn't?! What kind of rubbish is that?! That's not heaven then! I'll kick whatever God thinks he runs that place in the face!!" she will, just watcher her. "Come on!" She set the tiny angel on her shoulders. "Let's find him!!! And if he's not here, then we'll kick our way to wherever he is!"

Kohaku's eyes got wide and that little head shook so fast it looked like it would come right off. "You can't attack God! Please! Don't! You;'ll get hurt, the Angel Masters will have to try and stop you and they might get hurt! i don't want anyone to ever be hurt! Please!" Those tears were coming faster now.

"OH, you're an angel." Rather young looking, he thought. But it must be from a different place. Like an artistic representation of a cherubim come to life. He wanted to say that that was not necessarily God's decision, but who knew? And how many places did God have, anyway? No wonder she wasn't speaking to anyone with her attention so divided.

Best not to speculate.

He could believe the punishment anyway if it was the case. He had permanent assignment on Earth, so wasn't affected by this particular problem; but scuttlebutt was that angels who left without filling out the proper reallocation papers and filing them with head office, waiting for six to eight months for approval, were in for a stern reprimand. Rumor had it that one angel who had committed such an act had been assigned to the White House-- which was a Sisyphean task if ever he heard one.

As for this angel, well... Who could say if it was a minor infraction or not.

"Well, there there." He pats the angel's head. "I'm sure it's for the best. Perhaps you're needed here."

"Needed here? In my Cherubim form?" Kohaku's small head shook. "I'm no use to anyone in this form."

"Well then, I suppose it's a good thing that I'm not from your universe, si?", Sylvando said. Too late Crowley; you've challenged his skills as a showman and that challenge must be met! "Once I have a proper act put together here, I'll make sure that you have a front row seat. And afterwards, if you were still truly not impressed or entertained, then the Great Sylvando will gracefully admit defeat." He bowed theatrically. "Truly, I look forward to facing off against such a determined critic."

"But exactly who am I going to be facing off against, hmm?", he said. "You've mentioned that your friend is an angel; I don't suppose that you're one too?" Somehow he doubted it, but it was still worth asking. After all, the statues he'd seen were all unpainted stone, so who knew what colors they truly preferred?

"No hurting, I promise," Rose acquiesced easily enough. "But I'll give 'em a piece of my mind. If I ever find 'em." Which was not her highest priority. Stopping the darkness > finding Shuichiro > finding the Doctor > kicking God's face very firmly telling God that they have to be fake because true love was never wrong.

"Shuichiro might be here though. And if not, we'll find a way to get where he is, I promise."

"Well there must have been a reason." He folds his hands in front of him. "God's ways are often ineffable. We can't understand them. We aren't meant to. Ours is to obey and do the best we can."

Kohaku sniffed a bit. "But what reason? Was it really so bad to want to be with someone who isn't an Angel?" Except Madam Hisui hadn't been punished like this at all...

"Yes..." he sighed. He knew this. Had always known it. But... "Yes, it is. We are meant to be above. To be a role model. An example to mankind. But also to deliver justice as God sees fit. How can we deliver justice if we care too much? How can we bear the weight of it?" He could never. Not fully. Which was why it was a horrible idea.

"The Almighty knows what she's doing."

"But of course we are supposed to care," Kohaku protested. "Master Ranshou says that my caring heart is why I am the only one who can wake the new baby Angels... And if we didn't care, why would we want to protect Earth?"

"There's a difference between caring and caring too much. If you question your superiors you could be in great danger of Falling." Another sigh. "But that is a struggle..."

And baby angels. Oh, he feels sorry for that world. Children in general are... wonderful so long as they thoroughly belong to other people, but to be raised from infancy and not to appear fully formed in body and mind...He shuddered to think.

"But... Madam Hisui did... Hisui ran away and fell in love with Satan's son. That's why I went to earth in the first place, to find the missing Angel, and then I met Shuichiro...." Kohaku swallowed. "And Madam Hisui got to stay on earth, didn't get sent here..."

Good grief. The son of Satan. He doesn't think the other angel means the AntiChrist, but it isn't much better. Not that he is one to talk particularly, but he is wise enough not to..entirely act on it. Maybe he's already gone too far, though. Maybe he should pull back.


"I don't know what to tell you, my dear. You're the one who said it was a punishment and perhaps it is. Perhaps she is punished in her own way. I can't say. The point is we're here for the foreseeable future."

Tsumugi had been having the best time exploring the small city! Everything was so bright and there was so much food she'd never even heard of! Kotori would be so, so, so, so happy! If only she knew where her father and Kotori were.

Pouting, she didn't see the man until she'd run right into him.

"Ah!" She flailed before bowing lightly, "I'm sorry, Sir! I didn't mean to knock into you!"
