I. Exploring Main Street! Take a trip through a little town taken straight from 1890's America. Visit the shops, dine at the restaurants- but don't forget you are here on a mission. As an Apprentice, you will need to gather some supplies. A weapon, or tool for producing magic.

But we understand if that corn dog cart on Market Street is your first stop.

II. Apprentice Class 101! Practice your spell casting and weaponship on the open commons behind the Firehouse. Sparring, casting or just general confusion abound here. Try not to hit anything or...anyone, the paint on the infirmary is still drying.

III. Look out! A level 2 corroded monster has managed to get onto Main Street! Protect the citizens and defeat the cur, and please watch the damage, the paint is still wet!

IV. One Little Spark! Go ahead, show us the strength of your imagination and come up with your own scenarios. Just, stay out of the Corroded Lands...if possible.

She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Just order me whatever is the most expensive meal, the most expensive coffee, and a bowl of the strawberry chicken salad."

He nodded. "I'd happily go buy a new one in town, if the sword shop actually has swords. But I let Haley hold on to all my money. She said it was physically painful watching me shop. She does give me a budget when we're in town, but she's not here now... Otherwise we'd have plenty of money. And bags of holding."

Fenton winced. He didn't understand what a bag of holding was (didn't all bags hold things?), but he understood the lack of money very well!

"Oooh. No money. Yeah. That's a tough one. I hear ya, pal. What we, err... you need to do is drum up some funds! Any ideas?"

Yes, he knew that the best way to get money would be to get a job, but that could take a lot of time! And time was of the essence, if anything happened where this guy'd need to have a sword. But how to make a quick buck?

"If there was a Tavern I could sing for tips, maybe?"

"It was a rhetorical question." She stayed on the ground, drumming her fingers on the pavement.

"Like, 'why do all all these bad things happen to me'?"

That's it, he was becoming her new priority. She dropped the person she was currently harassing to fully turn to the annoyance.

"Quick question. What's two plus two?"

Magica picked up his hand by the finger and took it off her shoulder, like one would remove a disgusting bug. "A pleasure, I'm sure."

All right, if no one else was going to solve this problem (that she caused) then she had to fix it herself. The spell was wayward, but one part should be right - once it had a target, it should stop. If not... well, she could run away and let someone else take care of it.

She went to the target range, and ripped off the paper part of the target. There, that would do it. Now she just needed to get its attention...

Hey, that lackey would do.

"You there! Catch!" And she lobbied the target at him!

"You don't look like a demon," Amelia said. "They can't mimic humans that well. That's more of a mazoku thing." The word didn't quite slip into English, but Crowley might be able to catch the derivation if he knew other languages: the 'evil race/tribe'.

His lip curled upward slightly, affronted that this girl thought all demons were disgusting nasty creatures who often wore other disgusting nasty creatures on their head--... ok, she had a point!

"Expert on demons are you? We aren't all like that. Some of us, well, me, mostly... actually prefer having a human form. Makes it easier to blend in."

He flexed his dark wings just to indicate they were there.

"Run into many normal humans that have these do you?"

"It's wrong to judge other people by appearances, Mister. But, actually, you look a lot like an Ancient Dragon I met a year or two ago. He was a shapeshifter, too."

Look, there's a very distinct taxonomy here. It just so happens that it totally doesn't apply except on Amelia's home plane, and it hasn't occurred to her that maybe tings are different here.

This unusual word being 'What is that?' but all scrunched into one sound.

Crowley shrugged lazily and deeply enough that his neck crackled, loosening some of the kinks.

"Yeaa... about that. They did a really bad job at picking heroes. I mean, whoo, really bad. I'm not really the saving type..."

Frustrated he held out two very empty hands.

"Do I look like I have a sword?? Do I even look like the 'sword' type?! You're supposed to be the great adventurer, don't you have some way to defend yourself??"

"Goll... black, castle would look wonderful in black."

There really was only the difficulty of finding the paint, but there had to be some somewhere... tool shed or even inside a shop maybe.

"It needs a message too, you know to really get the point across we aren't happy at being kidnapped."

"A dragon?!"

How rude, thinking he was a... actually. You know, when you thought of that it was pretty flattering.

"Big powerful things dragons."

He was lost briefly in though imagining how interesting a life that would be. He'd have the same eyes probably, still have scales... would he have to build a treasure horde?

Almost having forgotten he was in a conversation he looked back to the girl.

"You'd actually do that? You would walk up to a dragon and tell them not to steal?"

"Yeah, tea time. You haven't even swung that sword once."

The pot calling the kettle... as Crowley was reclining on a nearby bench not paying the slightest bit of attention to the lessons being held all around him. Even if some one had managed to create a small rainstorm. I mean, good for them, but he saw no reason to participate.

"It's no good just to hold it."

I. It's always money problems...

"Yeaah, tell me about it."

Why was it when ever there was some one bellyaching about the unfairness of life there was a demon right there beside them to join in? By luck or design Crowley had been leaning on a nearby lamppost and he couldn't help but overhear. They should be getting paid for their help! The duck was absolutely right!

"They whisk you out here away from home, friends, family... give you nothing but a stupid looking wizard to explain the whole deal and then expect you to be ok with it all. Save the Kingdom... why don't they save their own bloody Kingdom? Where I come from you don't get to just kidnap people to protect you, you have to pay for that kind of protection and it doesn't come cheap!"

She grinned. "Oh, I'm sure you don't want to me to answer that one."

He stopped and actually thought about that. Like it was a hard question, then he tilted his head. "Okay, I don't get the joke... what's the answer?"

He grinned, all sharp teeth. "Now, let's see if we can't work on your control. Problem one is starting with a sword. There is a reason apprentices work their way up to metal."

"Pervect. Demons from Perv." He grinned. So far he hadn't had to break anyone's teeth, for misaying his species name. Which made this a good day in his books. "I've done my fair share of saving, though I'm less inclined to work for people who steal from me and haven't yet discussed their offer for payment."

"I did, but no one drew my sword here, so I can't draw my sword. I don't even have a bag of small animals."

On that he would simply hand her the supplies and let her go crazy.

"So I go left, you go right... anyone who finds an angel lets me know about it? And later, castle time."

"Uh huh, look... you've done that joke twice now and it wasn't even funny the first time. What we really need to do is..."

The monster werewolf howled and having finished off the lute charged toward the hapless pair.

"Run!"
